Dora Seres - Flute

" She can make her flute speak with a thousand tongues."

As a prize - winner of many international flute competitions Hungarian flutist Dora Seres was praised by the Washington Post. Her "stunning display of skill, focused vibrato, tonguing at match speed and a rainbow of colors" makes a big impression on the audience.

 

Dora Seres appeared at many international festivals including the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont, the Usedom Musik Festival in Germany, the Prague Spring Festival, the Central European Music Festival in Slovakia, the Obuse and Yamanami International Music Festivals in Japan and the Budapest Spring Festival. As a soloist she played in prestigious concert halls like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Metropolitan Museum of Art ( with Paula Robison ) in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Dvorak Hall of Rudolfinum in Prague, Kensington Palace and the BBC London, the Palace of Arts in Budapest, Bunka Kaikan Hall and Chanel Nexus Hall in Tokyo, "Gesellschaft für Musiktheater" in Vienna and Vienna Konzerthaus. Dora was represented by New York based Young Concert Artists management company 2005-2008 worldwide.

 

Her first solo CD by Hungaroton includes sonatas by Mouquet, Liebermann, Feld, Divertimento by Francaix, Rhapsody by Jean-Michel Damase and the Aria by Dohnanyi. Her chamber music partner was Emese Mali. ( 2004 ) Dora`s latest CD was also produced by Hungaroton in January 2013 and features Paganini`s 24 Caprices in Dora`s own arrangement. The CD got great review in "Der Spiegel", in "Clarino" and "Deutschland Kultur Radio".

Dora Seres is also a member of Carion woodwind Quintett. The group established a unique performing style with choreography on stage. They won many prizes at international chamber music competitions and launched an international career.

 

Dora was named "The best Hungarian Musician of the Year" in 2005 by the Gramofon Music Magazine when she received the Hungarian Classical Music Award.

 

She plays on a 18 carat gold Muramatsu flute.
